Pearl MoraviaBlack coat, tan markings and an unmistakable expression
You recognise a Gordon Setter at first sight by its glossy black coat with striking tan markings. It is a tall, harmoniously built dog with elegant movement and a dignified expression. But its beauty is not only skin deep. A well-built Gordon Setter is above all an athletic dog with great stamina, bred for work in the field. It is this combination of elegance and working ability that makes the breed so special.
A gundog that loves to work
The Gordon Setter comes from Great Britain, from Scotland to be precise, and belongs to the British pointing breeds. For generations it was used to find feathered game. It is known for its excellent nose, stamina and ability to work in the field.
It is a dog that needs exercise, mental work and the chance to use its natural ability. Hunting work gives it room to show what it really is. That is why we value its working temperament so much and try to preserve these qualities in our breeding.
A loyal partner for life
The Gordon Setter is not only a dog for the woods. It is also a devoted companion that loves spending time with its family and wants to be part of everyday life. It tends to be intelligent, friendly and confident, yet it keeps a mind of its own and needs consistent, sensitive guidance.
It thrives with people who enjoy spending time with it and include it in their lives. A Gordon Setter will happily join you on long walks, trips and other adventures, but it is just as happy curled up next to you on the sofa. It can be a tireless partner in the field and an easy-going companion at home. That combination of energy, devotion and love of comfort is what makes it such a special member of the family.
What we love about Gordon Setters is their versatility. They can be focused working dogs, confident show dogs and loyal family companions. Each has its own personality, but they all share what won us over years ago.
And the longer we live and work with them and breed them, the more we realise that for us the Gordon Setter is not just a breed. It is part of our life.
